Ratings are generated using a combination of AI-assisted review, structured scoring rules, available YouTube metadata, transcripts when available, and family preference settings. Scores are not guarantees and should be used alongside parental judgment.
Estimates, not endorsements
A high score, a favorable summary, or inclusion in a category guide is not an endorsement, certification, or guarantee of any kind. Guidory is not affiliated with YouTube, YouTube Kids, Google, or any reviewed channel or creator unless explicitly stated.
Confidence varies by signal
When transcripts or rich metadata aren't available, confidence is automatically lowered and labelled on the rating. Preview content yourself before sharing it with your child, especially when confidence is low.
Families differ
What fits one family may not fit another. Your family preferences personalise the fit score, but the final decision about what's appropriate for your child always rests with you.
Channels and videos change
Online video evolves. A channel rated favourably today may shift tone, monetization, or content focus later. We update analyses on a regular cadence, but ratings reflect the available signal at the time of analysis.
No live monitoring
Guidory does not monitor individual videos in real time, does not embed YouTube video playback, and does not act as a content filter or parental control product. Tools that do those things are complements to, not substitutes for, Guidory.
Errors and corrections
We strive for accuracy, but errors can occur. If you believe a rating contains a factual mistake, no longer reflects the channel it describes, or you have a concern about an analysis, please contact us at support@getguidory.com so we can review and, where appropriate, update the entry.

How ratings work
Every Guidory rating is built from five pillars. Four are numeric scores that combine into an overall estimate; the fifth, Confidence, tells you how much signal the estimate is based on.
- Child Appropriateness — age-suitability based on language, violence, scary or mature themes. Lower scores mean more caution for younger viewers.
- Family Compatibility — how well the content sits in a typical family setting: ad load, merch pressure, conflict, and tone. Personalised by your family preferences.
- Content Quality — craft, learning value, creativity, and social-emotional substance. Does the content reward the time spent?
- Overstimulation — pacing, sensory load, and rapid-fire editing. Higher scores mean calmer, less overwhelming content.
- Confidence — how much signal the estimate is based on. High means transcripts and rich metadata were available; low means limited inputs and you should preview the content yourself.
Ratings are AI-assisted estimates based on available signals, not endorsements or certifications. Use them as a starting point alongside your own parental judgment.
